Why are all of my dreams of me running away from something?

Mostly its the nightmares. I'm always running away from zombies or some human like character. But my last dream, I was talking to someone at a kitchen table in the dim light and everything else was dark. I remember being afraid of a ghost about to pop up in my dream, but as I see the reflection of the big widescreen tv, there I see this single giant head of an old asian lady behind me and it was sitting on a chair. It stared at me from the reflection of the tv abd was saying something but quiet to itself. I remember being scared but I went up to it and killed it with my bare hands. That was the first time I ever faced the bad thing in my dreams. So why now? why now after all of this hiding from bad things in my dream and al of a sudden I face it? What does this mean?
