How do i get over my fear of storms?
I live in central new york and we get a lot of thunderstorms and a few tornadoes in the spring/summer/fall months and I have an intense fear of them. Its gotten a lot better. I used to scream and cry and have horrific nightmares about them but now I basically keep the fear inside other than jumping at lightening and whimpering. I'm absolutely terrified of tornadoes though and I flip out whenever it starts to rumble because I'm always worried there will be one. I really have no where to go if one strikes. I have no basement or interior rooms besides a closet I can't fit into and the house is about 300 years old so I don't think it would stand a tornado. As a central new yorker we have thunder storms a few times a week so this is a daily fear of mine. I was never scared of storms until I got older. Is there anything I can do to get rid of or lessen this fear?
