Does diffusion happen in space?

Say there's a cloud of gas in space, one part of it being denser (more highly concentrated) than another part. Even if no other forces were acting on the cloud, wouldn't the pressure of the denser part push gas into the less dense part until the cloud was in density equilibrium?
