Help with citroen xantia clutch cable?

im looking for help and advice about my 1999 v reg citroen xantia . other day i put my foot on clutch pedal and with a loud bang the clutch pedal went all the way to the floor on the car. rac told me the plastic clip fitting has broke i found a metal clip in the foot well . do i need a new plastic clip fitting or a new cable . if it cable does it come with plastic clip fitting . seen a plastic clip on ebay for �7 .i had a price to get car done he want �130 . i live nr sheffield so if any car man want to earn a few quid to fix it for me mail me thanks
