Have any of you guys studied theism in college?

I teach. Comparative religion wasn't my major, though, just a hobby. It's a hobby I continue to this day. But it's a little different because I study about various forms of theism, reading the sacred literature of the world, and reading people like Jung, Campbell and Levi-Strauss, to put these studies in proper psychological, socio-historic and philosophical context. A Catholic working towards a doctorate in his or her own religion is probably getting a degree in Theology, not theism. Theology was instituted as a discipline in medieval university to start a systematic study of what was knowable about the Christian God.
